About time I bloggety blogged. So here goes:
Our lil froglet Alex the pest became a big three year old today. Fortunately the day wasn't as quite as hot as when he was born but pleasantly warm and sunny. So yesterday I made the cake. All he wanted was something orange. So someone on facebook posted a treasure chest cake they made and I copied as I thought what a cool idea -simple yet effective! Icing Alex's cake is done to the background noise of The Tour de France on the telly. Think it'll always be like that! I love doing their birthday cakes! I like this one but Matt thinks the black marzipan looks like slugs. Making it black also stained my hands and chopping board!

Katie woke him up today as she was too excited to open his presents!
He was so funny making silly faces and "Woo-hoo" exclamations. When asked what he wanted he told me Dinosaurs with eggs and babies and pirates to steal them! So we got him a playmobil Stegosaurus with eggs and babies, and a pirate ship with pirates and a treasure chest! Mum and dad got him some more dinosaurs and he was pleased as punch.
Knitting Grannie got him a cool rocket launcher which they tried out in his bedroom but we need to take outside to a big open space to try properly.

This afternoon we had a very small and tame party which was nice as although he wanted friends to come I think he would have been too overwhelmed with too many. Of course he wanted to play pass the parcel. But mostly they just played and went in the paddling pool.
Katie played with William and Sophie who were the big kids there.
So a good day was had by all and I don't even feel that exhausted!
